Do Strider folders have a liner on the none locking side ? I've always heard Striders referred to as hard use folders and just assumed the non locking side had a liner.

the ar and gb have liners.

the pt, sng, and smf do not have liners on the g10 side.

i have never heard of anyone breaking a g10 slab.

You'll break the blade before you break the g-10.
You say that with such certainty. I own an SMF and love it, really, it's one my most favourite folders.
But I think the XM-18 is stronger purely because it has a titanium liner as well as thick G-10 on the non-locking side. I'm never gonna try it and I don't think it has been done. But IMHO titanium will beat G-10 where tensile strength is concerned. I think if you stick the SMF deep into some wood and pry it sideway, the G-10 can be broken, before the blade, the lock or the pivot breaks.
Just a hunch though, I'm not gonna try it. :D

There is no liner, but bear in mind that the G-10 (or CF, on some "customs") is one-piece with the backspacer, so it is extremely thick along the back.

I would bet that the G-10 liner is actually stronger than the Ti one, at least on the CC versions, because the lockbar relief pocket and the Hinderer stabilizer drastically reduce its thickness at its weakest point.

That does not mean I think an SMF is stronger than an XM-18, quite the contrary.
