These knives were due in production this month and I was assured this morning that they were on schedule.

That's nice to know CJ. I have 15 of them on order and already have customers waiting for them. Any ideas when delivery will start?

I am checking on some dates. These knives will also be the very first knives ever to have a specific stamp that they were heat treated by Paul Bos. The BosMark. First 500 in BG-42...I was looking at blades in Fabrication yesterday...they were flawless.

Your rep for this area, Randy Martin was in the store yesterday and brought me up to speed on some of the stuff that is happening.

He told me not to expect them to start shipping to dealers before May or June. I was hoping for sooner but if thats the way it is, so be it. He said that the engineers told him how difficult it is to make them because of the toughness of the blades. I believe it.

I also want to tell you how much I appreciate Randy Martin's efforts to keep me informed on what is going on at Buck Knives. I have been a dealer now for several years and, of all the Reps you have had, he is the best. In fact, he is the best of all of the Reps that I have dealt with, period. He calls and keeps me up to date on production and developments. He frequently checks to see if I need to odrer anything and makes sure I have what I need to keep Buck Knives as one of my best selling lines.

David, (I'm sorry I can't remember his last name but his extension is 280) in sales, is also a great person to deal with. He goes out of his way to make sure my orders are filled properly, even when I need them in a hurry. He lets me know promptly when there is a problem and will actually call and check to make sure things are going well. He has even stopped by the store and introduced himself and seen my operation. I like that kind if service. It is one of the reasons that, even though I am a small one man shop in La Mesa, I am one of your top dealers in the southwest.

Randy and David both deserve attaboys. Because of them I find it is a real pleasure to do business with Buck Knives. Keep them around. They work for you.

A bit of an update on the Strider folder.

I still don't know for sure when they will ship but I found out that I am number three on the list for them and that all 15 I have on order will have the numbered, BosMarked BG42 blades.

I know it isn't much but, at least, it's something.

I was over at Dennis' shop today and one of the things we talked about was, surprise, Buck Knives, their products and how nice our interactions with them have been. I've been treated very kingly by all there I've come in contact with, whether in person or email or on the web. Dennis reports the same sort of experiences and not with all the same individuals either, so it seems there is a surfeit of good will at Buck!!
About the only thing we really complained about, was our shared opinion that the Carbon Fiber Odyssey II should come with PLAIN EDGE option (rant mode off
wink.gif
) Otherwise I love my 182, the carbon fiber is VERY cool looking and that EDGE 2000, it is SHARP! Got to look at the Rainbow Trout scaled 175 too, pretty neat. Dennis had a few of the 124 Frontiersman models on display (his private collection) and I realized how dumb I was not to get one when they were still available. I'm gonna start lookin, that is one sweet knife. OK, I gotta stop now, SWMBO wants to use the computer!! Thanks Buck folks (and Dennis)
