Strider folders are supposed to be very tough. They look and feel tough. What have you done with them that shows how tough they are? Thank you.

i made sure it didnt suffer

not much at least

I can't believe you risked cutting a tomato with such a knife. Isn't it risky taking the knife out of the safe?

no

i carry it all the time... i just put it in one of those oakley metal safekeepers and wrap that in a towel

hey... i cut off the tag from a knockoff LV bag a coworker bought in NYC also

thats pretty cool right?

I cut my friends Benchmade 710 clean in half with my SMF.....muhahahahahahahahahahahahaha ;)

After that, I pryed a ManHole cover up from the sidewalk to rescue a drowning puppy....

Then, I went home and cut down a small Oak tree that was blocking my view...

Then, I WOKE UP...it was all just a dream! :(

BUT, I know I could do ALL these things if I had to! ;)

Had to use mine to split wood when out in the field, and no one brought dry wood for the fire. Held up fine but needed to steel the edge when I got home.

I beat mine up all the time. It is the knife I carry when I either do yard work or go into the woods. I guess the worst thing was prying the bullet out of the tree. It left a very tiny piece of the tip in the tree. It sharpened right out though.

I regularly use it like a machete. You would not believe how well you can cut small tree limbs and shrubs with this thing. To look at my SNG you would immediately know that it gets used because of the blade scratches. I believe the thing will never wear out though. The lock-up is as solid as day one. It is one great knife.

Ditto.

You know the Cold steel videos, cutting a hanging rope? That's how I do small branches. :) To be fair, I've been doing the same with a Vaquero Grande for years, and with my ER Nemesis, too.

I got my SnG from a man who had sent it in for sharpening, so I got it razor sharp to begin with. It still is. That's one really durable edge.

But I wouldn't do a tomato with mine. It's a tanto. That tomato would squirt juice all over the counter in fear when it saw the blade coming down!

You see? That's the problem with those silly tanto blades. With a nice spearpoint you just stab the bugger real quick before it knows what's coming .... ;)

I carried my Buck/Strider while bowhunting this year. Dug numerous judo points out of stumps and trees with it. Twisted and torqued the point and tip and it is just fine as when I rec. I also popped the lid on a fresh can of paint which I usually use a screwdriver for and didn't hurt it at all. I split some apple and silver maple fire sticks with it and used a baton to do it with. This was to make a fire over the holidays, and did this several times. Works fine for doing that and still is in excellant shape. This is definetly the heaviest duty work horse of a folder I can imagine. Big, thick and stout. Oh man oh man this kind of talk is making me.... :footinmou Hey if my ol'lady ever read that last passage I would be in trouble for sure. Suffice to say that although not a pure Strider it is still a helluva knife. keepem sharp

I put my SnG to hard use attacking my bank account ;) . It's a great knife, but it's just not the right knife for me. Anyone want to buy a Gen 1 tanto?

I used my AR to deanimate a very angry voodoo priest stuck inside a 72 Chevy pickup upside down in a icy glacier fed creek...had to cut through ice then crushed doors then his screaming head.

Being I carry Striders as serious tools, I will try to provide a serious response. I used my GB extensively while working in an aviation environment. I have confirmed through testing that I can extract myself out of a helicopter by both prying the door off or punching through the plexiglass. I was also able to punch it through the roof of a Cadillac. The SMF and SNG I own have been used for extensive utility chores without a hitch. This includes everything from opening boxes to cleaning fish. They have also cut an extensive amount of plastic cable. They have also performed well with hundreds of high speed deployments during self defense training.

I routinely use my AR to cut Cat-6 cable and poke holes in drywall for cabling installation.
