Is the leading edge from the point down sharp on a GB? If not is their a reason, or a reason I wouldnt want to or shouldnt? If no can it be sharpened? and does anyone know the blade edge angles on the knife?

I dont have the GB yet, but am close!

Thanks all.

The point isn't SHARP, but it's not dull. The regular edge is 22.5, and the tanto point is like 35. It's made to penatrate without blunting the blade.

Up to you, I guess, wouldn't hurt,(if I went that route I would convex it) but it's sharp enough to cut paper, it just isn't to shaving sharp. Unless you need the tip shaving sharp, I 'd leave the factory edge on it.

Thanks. It never hurts to ask a question here about a blade before doing something different! The only thing that concerns me is that Strider uses S30V now. Big Thick blade, it's probably a non issue as far as chipping I guess/hope!

I wasn't putting mine through car doors so I took it down to 15 degrees per side, tip and all, and it was a cutter and a half.

It actually wasn't too bad. I layed a DMT XCoarse stone on top of my Sharpmaker for most of the shaping and then polished her up on the SM stones to make it pretty.
