strider karambit

does anyone consider a karambit an effective utility knife or are they pretty much limited to defense. i own one of the laci szabo's and it won't cut much of anything with its one sided grind

I have used my Strider Karambit for cleaning fish and small camp chores. I am very happy with mine.

Can't speak for the "modern" kerambits, but my understanding is that the originals WERE utility knives which also doubles as defense-pieces.
