I was looking at the strider sng latley. But ive seen some posts and talked to some people and they say the strider is rough and crudley made. Now my question is, how rough are they, im willing to over look a scratch here or there; but not much more. Right now im a sebenza owner and am spoiled at sebenza quality. maybe some one can post a close up pic of some flaws on a strider. also ive never seen any strider forums, does anyone know of any.

The SNG is not as smooth opening as the sebenza nor is the lock bar as smooth to disengage at first. Those are the two main differences, other than that I have noticed on mine the lock bar wore fast, the grind lines were ever so slightly off and the stop pin/thumb stud only touched on one side. You may find some other minor flaws if you look really hard but nothing I am concerned about. None of these effect the strength or reliability of their knives. The warranty is great and all inclusive, BUT it is extremely slow in my comparison with other production knife companies. I would take some pics for you except I am waiting for both of my SNG's and my SMF to get back from Strider for some repair I felt they needed.

As far as a Strider forum goes there is one at CAN'T MENTION you have to register to veiw anything and do a internet search for striderforums and you will find the other one, which you also have to register to veiw. There is a "different" relationship with strider owner check out the forums and see if it appeals to you, some it does not agree with. These are of course my thoughts and I am a multiple Strider knife owner so take them for what they are worth, NOTHING!

Striders are primarily built as hard use tools, not meant to be shiny objets du fart kept under glass (although a good number of 'em seem to end up there). If you are looking for a spotless knife, don't by a Strider.

You might find a scratch on it from the factory.

Beyond that they are definitly not crude, and one knife's less than perfect finish is another knife's character. Construction wise they are VERY well finished. But the gents at Strider don't seem to be too concerned that their tools come out spotless, they are tools after all. ;)

I gave up my Sebenza after four years for a SnG. I beat the crap outta my Sebenza and it performed very well. I beat the crap outta my SnG and it performs very well. In the end I feel less reluctant to beat the crap outta my SnG because I ain't worried about scratches.

TIR, it's unspoken policy not to mention USN. (Spark has a problem with them)

Thanks for the heads up I did not know that. Edited post accordingly.

I have had 3 SNGs, 3 GBs, an AR, and an SMF.

I have not had one that is "crudely made".
I have been very pleased with all of them.

The only flaws on mine are from carrying them and using them.

I've had almost as many as Ed and never had any problem whatsoever. They do seem to get a little smoother mopening with use but they are not anything at all like crude.
