Strider Knives question on TAC AR?

The new tactical AR/GB's are out and I was wondering if anyone has one or has handled one?

I currently EDC a GB and an SnG to work. Both are serving me really well. I even find myself using my other knives less and less. Reaching for the Striders.

I noticed the top grind is different and there are some cool handle cuts in the G-10 but why the Tactical designation?

I believe its because of the blade shapes that they get the designation. The tanto on the GB is stronger because it is full thickness just about all the way to the tip. The AR would penetrate better with its blade shape.

I initially chose my Strider GB for tip strength. I have broken other folders in the past and wanted something with a really good rep and also the best warranty in the knife industry.

The Tac AR does look mean though! :)

I really like the TAC AR. Particularly the cut outs in the handle. I find that they make drawing the knife more secure and positive.

Hi. I have a new Tactical GB. It is my first Strider folder, and MAN, is this thing HUGE!!!

It is totally awesome and I am thrilled to death with it.

That said, why the "Tactical" designation, you ask?

They are just variations on the existing AR/GB's, as you can see...

Functionally, there's nothing different about them, save for the blade shape, though I doubt that one would really notice a huge difference in everyday usage. Well, the new handle pattern does add some grip.

Basically, its just marketing to sell more knives, and man, did it work! I have been considering a GB for a while anyway, and when I saw the new "disruptive stripe" pattern on the new Tacticals, I *HAD* to have one! The new stripe pattern is by far the best that Strider has ever done, IMO.

Also different about these is that all the hardware; screws, pivots, pocket clip, are all black.

The fit and finish on my GB is great, and the operation is perfect; smooth blade travel, rock-solid lock-up, easy to unlock.

Hats of to Strider and TAD!
