Indeed they are expensive. I don't use my Striders, I carried them a couple times, but never really put them to work much. The more you collect, the more you will start to appreciate the higher end knives.

I know knives can be expencive. I paid $170 for my Benchmade. Striders are way over that from what I have seen. I have not looked at used ones though.

Used is the way to go in my opinion. At least with some companies, Strider being one of them. Its a great way to get into one for less wallet denting and usually if you don't like it you can get out from under it just as quick with just as little worry to the wallet. If you lose a few bucks its almost like paying a rental just to play with it for a time. Big deal. Most times, you can break even at the least if you buy smart. The way I see it, yep they're expensive but you can turn a quick $200 out of one or better if its not all dinged up from use and do it pretty quick usually so its almost the same as cash. Banks pay diddly anyways so may as well carry my savings account in my pocket and cut with it.

I've never bought a new Strider. I've been quite happy with the six Strider folders I've owned buying them used right here on the forums.

There are several threads about this topic if you want to see previous opinions on Strider. Just search using the search option.

I have yet to pull the trigger for a Strider, but the SnG seems to be favored by most. If I were to buy one it would be the SnG.

They are expensive and built like tanks. Warranty and Quality Control have been issues discussed recently. Once fixed up though the feedback is very positive.

If you can live with big folders with short cutting edges, they are pretty good knives.

Bottom line: great, overbuilt knives. Probably overpriced but fill a unique niche.
