Is the kukri shown in the march 2001 guns article a custom job or is it a production model. In case you don't know it is shown with a lr-300 rifle on page 41.

Thanks
Mike

Haven't seen the photo.
But it is more than likely our model PAB.
Check out the web page.

Thanks

SK

No I saw the pab, this didn't seem to be one, this has a toothed semicircle for lack of a better discribtion in the thinner part of the kukri nearer the guard and a serrated back maybe.

Hey Mad Scientist,
It IS something we still make and it was for a specific purpose that will be out soon. It is for sale and the price is $750.

I was wondering...in the picture above.. do you look thru the two holes in the rings to aim that thing??

Those rings are scope rings Tom. They are used to securely fasten an optical scope to a weapon. By looking through the scope your target will appear larger and more clear. This type of equipment is used primarily with sharpshooters called "Snipers". A Sniper is a ....

I would really like to know what this knife is designed for. Ever since I saw it I could not figure it out myself. Looks like another version of UUK, which to the best of my knowledge is not very popular knife.

That knife was designed for a video game. Not sure what practical use it had, but a bunch of folks have bought it. Wicked looking thing isn't it.

Is that a joke, or was it really designed for a videogame? If it is true, they did not have to bother designing a new knife. Just use UUK. It is almost as useless.Alex.

No Joke. They were approached by an unnamed company about making a custom knife to be used in a video game to slay zombies. It was never intended to be used for real. Whatever this UUK is you keep talking about was probably just a poor design, but I haven't seen it and can't say for sure. The video game folks wanted something from a fantasy, but they knew enough to come to the best to make it a reality. Good business sense if you ask me. It has been all over the magazines and will be in a game to boot. You can't ask for better PR.

Hi guys.
fandrin, I just wanted to ask the same question you asked. Was the tiger really designed for a video game? All Japanese media and some knife shops claim it's something like super assassin knife or ultimate anti-terrorist knife(personally, I don't trust them). But Mick and Duane, the guys who made this knife say it was designed to hack zombies in the boob tube.
.....What's the truth?

Read my post above. That is the honest to god truth. Direct from Duane's mouth.

I was present when the first cardboard proto's were given to Mick for the Tiger knife. It was taken from a combination of designs from a couple of makers to be used as a basis for a high end video game. I don't think the Strider guys would have ever done it on their own. With that said, Strider is well known for building the toughest blades around, and are a favorite of the Spec-Ops world, which is why they were probably selected for this project. The blade design is functional for specific types of edged weapon training. Hope this clears things up without giving away a bunch of secrets.
