Hi. What maintenance is required to keep my new baby Strider BT/SS in top shape? A light coat of oil, or what?
Also, how do I clean it should it become dirty?
Tiger stripe finish, FYI.

Thanks!!!

Thanks a lot, Mr. Strider!!!

Also: I tried emailing you about different sheath options for the BT, but didn't get a response.
Could you please help with that? I'm looking for some sort of concealed-carry; IWB, calf, or shoulder-rig. Do you offer anything like that?

Thanks!

What kind of oil are we talking about? Are there any brands that are preferable?

Thanks, Christiaan.

LOL! :D I couldn't help laffin. I find the Striders so "HARDCORE" I never even associated the 'word' maintenance with Striders.

You guys must try picking up old copies of Japanese Knife mook or magazines and see what 'cray' Ichiro Nagata does to those Striders... ;) :D

If I had to wipe them down with oil, which I don't;), I would use Marine Tuf Glide.

Hope that helps

:D

Leo: Could you please post any info you may have from those "old japanese magazines"? I'd love to read about what Striders have been put thru! 'Specially since I just got a new BT! Anything else you have would be appreciated too!

Thanks!

For knives that will not see food, I use motor oil as it is readily available, cheap and contains rust inhibiting stuff. For the knives that contact food, I have been using Mineral Oil from a pharmacy. It's good regular (sorry) maintainance.
