My only question is why are you posting the same exact statement/question in multiple forums?

Gives us a comparison between the Buck Strider and the Strider Tiger when you get it. sounds like it would be interesting.

Welcome to the Buck Forum!

Congratulations on deciding to join the Navy. I spent 22 years in the Navy and I would not recommend you spend that kind of money on a knife for use in the Navy right away. There are several reasons. First, there is a very real possibility that the knife could get lost or worse, "walk off." Until you determine exactly what your job will be in the Navy I would recommend you stay with something less expensive but still very reliable. If you're going to be aboard a ship, a good folder would be a good choice and any of the Buck-Strider collaborations would be good or even the Buck 110 folder, which many sailors over the years have found to be very good for shipboard use. If you find yourself in the Seals, then I would say (after I congratulate you) get a good fixed blade AND a good tactical folder. Hope this helps.
