Hi. I fear fake Striders. Just hoping you guys can help me with my OCD nature and verify this isn't a fake.

Looks real to me.

I rarely see this model faked. The vast majority of the fakes are SMFs and SNGs. I also see the RC commonly faked as well as the Microtech Strider collab DOC. (Death on Contact)

This one does seem off for some reason,
Have you done the magnet test on the clip to see if its metal?
Im no Strider pro though.
EDIT: Just went to YT and watched a few vids...it looks like the real mccoy ..

I own one of these and your knife isn't a fake. My knife matches these pictures exactly.

If you are buying it, rest assured it is the real deal.

Good to know, I dont blame OP for being paranoid, it looks so very different than anything "Strider" liike.. Thank you Kreyzhourse, learned something new today.

The Baby Hueys are different animals for sure. The blade stock is thin and the damn thing actually cuts, well, like a knife.

The grind lines match mine exactly and the early versions were hand ground or so I read.

Anyway, as much love as the SnG and SMF get, the SJ-75 is Strider's best knife in my opinion.

Thanks for your beneficial insight. I am sure a search for "Strider" on a knife forum would have really told me if this knife in my possession was authentic. I'll do that next time.

Awesome! Thank you! I just got it, and I got burned on a strider before. Plus a few little things did bother me... the clip not being magnetic, the "Strider" felt "off", and the pocket clip screw.. I can't remove the pocket clip because then the screw is too long to keep the body tight! Whats with that?? How can I go clipless then?

Nice! Thank you! I was hoping the SJ75 wasn't faked.. but better thought to ask the experts of the forum than to have it eat at me.

The clip is supposed to be non magnetic. It is titanium. When you say the screw is too long you mean if you remove the clip and then put the screw back in you can’t get the screw all the way down?

Just remove the screw altogether and put it aside with the clip.

Oh.. oops.. thats embarrassing. haha Yes, thats what I mean! But if I take the screw out.. there is nothing holding the standoff in place! Wait.. if you remove your clip, the standoff stays? HOW?!

I see what you mean now. The standoff is being held in place by the screw on the g10 side. It is probably staying that way for now because the fit is tight but if you carry it like that the g10 side screw will fall out and you will lose the standoff. Please do yourself a favour and leave the clip and clip screw in for now.

I suggest you try and find a little rubber O ring in the mean time that will fit around the threaded section of the clip screw. Then you can take the clip off, slip the o ring up onto the screw under the head and screw the clip screw back in without the clip.

Thumbs up! Thanks! I really appreciate your ownership experience in this thread. I am kind of surprised at the whole clip set up on this thing. So far I really like this knife, far more than I thought I would! That clip situation is so odd though. I was going to write Strider an email, but their contact page is messed up with the captcha not working. I like the o ring idea. I doubt I can find the right sized screw at home depot.

You don’t need to find a screw. Just use the o ring idea.

Good luck trying to get Strider to listen to anything. The guy makes some cool knives but is a total sh*thead.

Btw the old strider site is defunct. If you want to get a hold of the guy search Mick Strider Custom in google and go to his new site.

Got it, thanks! Oh man, strider sucks in that regard? What a let down. But you do still like your sj75?

Didn’t want to bring it up and take this guy’s thread off topic. Lets just say Mc Burger is not only a liar but a crappy car thief as well.
Kinda what I was trying to get the op to find out for himself. I wouldn't carry a Strider if they were giving them away with 100$ bills. Not because it's a crappy knife but because of the scum selling it.--KV

No worries if you do. I like when people bring things up like that. It matters in my purchasing decisions.
That is exactly what K kvaughn was trying to tell you...
