Hey Guys, has anyone else noticed its nearly impossible to remove a Strider SMF from your pocket, it gets stuck on the top of my pocket every single time and i have to wrestle with the thing to get it out, i'm almost going to shelve it and go back to a ZT because of it. i tried taking off the clip and bending it out a bit but it still does it, it seems its because the lockbar cutout is on the outside and the pants get caught in the cutout... any ideas??? i love the thing but i'm tired already of fighting with it every time i want to use it!

thats the way it is bro... man up and yank it out :)
striders were designed so you wouldnt lose them in the field

I have read the recommendation of putting an o-ring under the clip on the screw to loosen it up. check the Strider FAQ page on blue line gear.com
hope this helps!

Yes, don't be shy, just whip it out!

All my jeans have frayed right pocket edges from clip wear.

I lift up the bottom of the clip with the tip of my index finger as I retrieve the knife. Works like a charm.

thanks for the input guys, i took it off and bent it with a pair of pliers, seems to be better now!

I just got my First SMF last week and noticed the same thing. For me its not an issue I want my knifes to stay put in my pocket. I made up a very ugly but effective lanyard that is just long enuff for me to grab with my pinky finger to help rip it out of my pocket with great force.

I always liked how my SnG doesn't move around and I don't have to worry about losing it. Sure, my jeans pockets are frayed but they're a lot cheaper to replace than a Strider. ;)

The clips on them are super tight and like you said the lockbar cutout doesn't help. On my old SnG I took an old milk jug and cut a small piece out. Made a shaped "washer" that I put under the clip. It was perfect.

On my SMF, I just bent it a little

Both ways work

I wouldn't mind. I would actually like it. If you can't get it out on your own, you don't have to worry about losing a large investment anywhere!
It would give me confidence.
