Both of these knives are used and show some wear marks but neither has ever been abused and either should provide you with a lifetime of use.

The SnG is pre-Hinderer LBS and was a one-off in between the first four iterations. It has been refinished by Strider Knives to remove the black coating on the blade. $325 $315 $300

The PT has been sharpened, carried, and used plenty. It has excellent lockup, makes fantastic fuzz sticks, and takes everything that makes the SMF and SnG great and shoves it into a smaller more-pocketable package. $225 SOLD!

Prices include shipping CONUS via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. I will ship to Alaska and Hawaii (as well as Internationally) but those buyers will pay actual shipping.

I'll accept Paypal and USPS Money Orders or a personal check if we've successfully completed a transaction in the past.

Feel free to PM or email me with any questions.

Thanks in advance,

B

You say the SnG is 'pre Hinderer' ? This makes me want to ask to see a pic of the lock relief thickness. Do you know the area I am referring to?

If not here is what I'm talking about. I'd like to see a view of the lock contact with the blade open just like the pic of this here link. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=79819&d=1191291210

Even better if you have access to a digital caliper I'd like to know what the thickness is for this cut out on the pre Hinderer model. Again the area I'm wanting to know about is the thin cut out area for thinning down the lock to make the bend to spring it to tension.

If its thicker here substantially compared to the new Striders or this Emerson HD7 I just picked up you have the knife sold.

If not I'll probably pass.

Thanks

STR,

I'll try to get those pics for you this morning. We're moving in a couple of weeks so most of my stuff is already packed into boxes but if I can find the camera and tripod I'll get a pic or two.

Thanks,

B

Here's about the best image I could get of the lockbar cutout:

I don't know if it really shows what you're looking for but was the best contrast I could get with my camera and limited photography skills.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance,

B

Its hard to tell the thickness accurately with pics but it shows pretty much what I wanted I guess. I was hoping to get more of a straight down view of it closer to how I scanned my own but it looks to be taken just about as thin as current models to me.

I was hoping to see some massive difference in the thickness there compared to the new ones but can't say its a massive diff.

It may be slightly thicker and not as wide but it still looks to be taken down to about .045 thickness overall. Would you agree?

STR

As I mentioned, this is the best picture I managed to take. The straight-down shot shows no contrast between the cutout and the rest of the lockbar.

As to thickness, my imprecise measurement looks like about 3/64".

Thats what I figured too. Thanks for the time to do that Brian but I'm going to pass.

STR the relief on all the pre-hinderer Striders I have checked are right at .040 the hinderer ones are about the same. As far as the pre goes It is plenty thick, and you do not ever need to worry about breaking it. I have a gen 1 and well it just ain't gonna break. Even if it did it is covered for life....but it won't.

It isn't breaking I worry about. I appreciate your concern and I have considered buying it seriously. However the lock relief weighs in my decision. .040 is too thin for me and allows me to move the lock downward far easier than I like personally.
Again if its that thin I'll pass. Thanks anyway and lets take any further comments about this to private venues. This is a for sale forum not set up for chatting.

This one's been down for a while.

Back up there for deer season. :)
