Hello everyone !
Just wanted to show off my latest addition, a Strider PT.
Eventhou it measures the same size as my small Seb, it fits in the pocket like
a small slip-joint folder. It is a very well built knife, but dont think $300's worth , but to each his own :D
The Seb vs. Strider has been done to death already. I do enjoy the knife and plan to make it my EDC replacing my mini-socom. Anyways, here is a picture.

actually ram...that looks REAL nice - if you get a shot to throw some more photos up, that would definitely be appreciated...

The PT is a fine folder. Nothing wrong with it at all. I have had a lot of folks write me asking how to keep the pivot from loosening on them and the SnG. The bull pivot is so big on those and the Emersons too for that matter that many times the blue loctite won't hold it well or does but for a short time and then it doesn't work well anymore. I've had better results using Sportsmans Goop for these and it holds the barrel right where you put it after coating the threads of the male part of the screw and holding it out in the air for about 2 min. before putting it back. After some air time then simply screw it in to the tension you like if yours does this also. Let it sit for about 12 to 24 hours and its good to go. Goop won't run, gives you complete control and holds very well but not so strong that you can't get the pivot out later.

Both my SnG and PT have been guilty of this loosening and virtually every Emerson I've ever owned too. My M-Wave and one of my CQC14s were the worst of the lot. They all have Goop in them now and I haven't had to mess with any of them since.

Ive rocked a PT since mid 05 , longest I've ever EDC'ed anything ! It beat out my small Sebbie , Benchmade 705 and 707 . Its grippy and tuff as hell !

Enjoy !

love my PT CC , rides nicely in a mission wallet.

Cant say I have ever had the pivot come loose on any of the PT's I have owned.

Its a great user knife.

The PT is a great knife!! I really like the PT CC.

Hi T.K.C. ...

I didn't know you had a PT. I do know that you love that small dog paw Sebbie.

I've been eyeing a PT for a while now and waiting to handle one at Blade next month. So let me ask you... how does the PT stack up to the small Sebbie for cutting/slicing? It seems like the PT has about the same blade length but less of a cutting edge than the Seb. Does that hurt any of the cutting you do?

How do you sharpen your PT? I had to do some rebeveling to get my SnG and my RCC to touch up with my Sharpmaker, but I really like using the Sharpmaker for quick touch ups, so it was worth it.

TKC - I'm in the same boat as dale, actually. I'm looking at the dog paw pt cc, the dog paw small sebenza, and then a plain small. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've put mine thru a lot of guff , and its still tight as the day I bought it . It's even been a dive knife a time or two . I deffinatly want a PT CC .

Dale , my PT is a profficient slicer . It sharpens easily on the Sharpmaker . Like all Striders , it errs on the side of ruggedness . Its a ruggedized flat grind , not quite the sams construct as the Sebbie .

John Wylie - What's that fixed blade in your first photo? Looks like a very handy size.

Thanks, DutchV

When I say loosen its not like the screws back all the way out. Its the tendency for it to back up just a bit on its own. I've had a lot more reports with Emersons doing this actually but I have noticed both my Striders and my Buck Strider 881 have done this same thing. In fact I just mailed out a Buck Strider sent to me for this where the blade became sloppy loose and started rubbing the sides from a few rotations opening and closing it and this right after adjusting it to where you wanted it.

Anyway, what has been said to me is that folks set the blades centered and later notice that its no longer centered because the adjustment they put it to changed. My PT was uncentered to begin with though and just always sits that way. It also has a replacement screw in the pivot placed there by the guy I got it from in trade because the original stripped out. I've not had any reports on any of these of someone losing a pivot screw from it backing itself out so its not like that. I have however had to replace several Emerson stop pins from guys letting the lateral blade play get so bad that they fell out unbeknownst to the user until it was noticed when they opened the blade the first time without it in there.

Thanks, Chris. I really have gotten very fond of the SnG I got in a trade a while back, so I want to try one of the CC models, either a PT or an SnG. I'm hoping to be able to handle both at Blade and pick one or the other.

I really like the knife and will try and post some more pictures this week if
possible. Thanks for the replies ! Is the titanium and blade bead blasted or
is it a coating ? I have a 40 minute ride home from work, so the PT is
admired all the way home :D

That was originally an older Strider WP , hollow ground , thick stock. I think it was Coog who did the scales ( CF ) , I reground the blade to a flat grind.

Cut like a Mo-fo.

Here are some more pics. I posted only the link for full resolution. The pics
are of the Strider and some of my knives that wanted to be in the
pics also :D Enjoy !
