How thick are these things? I know from the passaround that the strider AR is beastly, but I was wondering about the SnG and AR. if anyone owns one of these, and could take a pic say next to a sebbie or bm710, that would be appreciated.

also, where do you buy striders? The only places i've seen for sale are from them and from tadgear

Also, if anyone can post a pic for size comparison of a lone wolf T2 ranger, that would be appreciated as well. thanks.

The PT is 3/8" thick , the SNG is 1/2" as is the SMF . I get mine from Blueline Gear , www.bluelinegear.com . If you go to the Strider website they have a fair number of dealers listed . Blueline has a large stock and good product knowledge . Plus they are good people to deal with . Sorry I'm D/C (digitally challenged ) so I cant post pics .

well.. i don't have a sebbie or 710, but since you participated in the AR passaround I'll refer to some of my review pics.

as for where to buy, check:

plazacutlery.com
bladeart.com
2thehilt.com

all of them reputable dealers.

good luck.

oh wow that SnG is a lot thinner than the AR. sweet.

do you have the titanium version of the PT/SnG, the one where both sides are metal (like the one currently on passaround?). I main issue I have with strider designs is that having exposed metal on one side and G-10 on the other makes the knife ugly as hell.

AFAIK, there's been only two PT's with Ti sides, both mentioned in the passaround thread. Otherwise you get Ti and G10.

I thought you might be interested in why they are made that way. Following is from the Strider Unofficial fact:

Why G10 on the SnG/SMF instead of all Ti?
Per Mick Strider:

"The actual reason is that as much as you think it would ‘look’ cool. It’s a less quality knife. We use the G10 because it is rigid as hell. Ti is rather flexible by nature…it moves around quite a bit. The way we mill the G10 it is a solid piece of .390” thick material.

There are a lot of other reasons I could toss in there as well.

Its cold on your skin.
It is less ‘grip-able’."
