Hey guys. Just wanted to see what you think. I'm looling into maybe buying a strider pt. I own a cold steel espada and I was wondering if anyone knows how they compare. I'm talking about strength here... =) with my cold steel I really don't feel like I have to baby it. And if a strider is the same way I might get one... If not ill try and find a para 2.

Never heard of anybody suggesting a Strider needed to be babied or used lightly. They're good work horses.

I tend to focus on the knife, not the politics. I still EDC an Emerson also. Strider makes one of the best designed folders ever.

Well really, if you want to focus on the people there's dirt on everyone. Strider and Marfione's ethics, the way Kershaw/ZT and WH treat their dealers, you could go on and on.

But to say that the PT isn't worth what it sells for is pure opinion. I base that on the FACT that no one can keep the PT in stock and that I regularly see them in the exchange here and on other forums used for MORE than they sell new.

Back on topic. Op, if you like the PT, it is a good knife. I recently got one and decided it's a little too small and so I will be looking for an SNG to replace it. It's a good knife with great fit and finish, made of very good materials and they have one of the best warranties in the business from what I hear.

A para2 is comparable to an SNG, the PT is far smaller. The SNG is my favorite all around knife at the moment but if you can't swing it then the para2 is a good choice.

I owned a Pt for about half a day, it's just too small for me. The other Striders seem like good value. Expensive, but good value. The PT seems like a lot of money for a small knife... ...of course that's all subjective.

I took pictures of a Strider PT I bought used, used it for months, passed it around to no less than 15 people(over 6-8 months) who were told to use it like their own, and I've had it back for about a month now. It has never been in to be serviced and it has been used and sharpened. The action is smooth, there is no play, and the knife has tons more life in it. Talk is talk, but pictures and use tell the true story.

When I sent it out it had a 1000 grit 40 degree edge on it from my Wicked Edge. The last guy hit it with a strop and it was able to cut phone book paper when I got it back. The tip did have a few dings in it. I hit the tip on my Sharp Maker (medium and Fine) for about 10-15 minutes and the dings were gone and the tip could cut phone book paper as well.

The PT I held recently seemed much, much smaller.
