I have been hooked on fixed blades for a long time and specifically Busse Combat & kin. While my first choice is still a fixed blade there are times when it just isn't practical to carry one... so I'm in the market for a folder - just one !!

I had a Strider SNG DGG a while back and while I really liked it there was a slight blade play which just pissed me off. It was quite big too but I got used to that quickly and it was more the response from the sheeple ~ not my feeling that it was huge.

I've been saving some pennies and am nearly ready to buy another folder but would like your input. I'm swaying toward a SNG CC but also think a PT CC might do nicely. I'd like to carry the knife at all times e.g. at work (suit & tie), around the house and during the evenings and weekends (jeans/shorts and a tee shirt)

What are your thoughts gents ?

PT is a little small, good for the office and dress. SNG is the perfect EDC.

I would go with the SNG if you are only going to get one. PT would be a little bit too small for a full time EDC. IMO

The DGG variety looks like it would eat up a pocket quicker than the regular CC version.

Go full slabbed SnG. I've owned 4 now and none of them had blade play. On the other hand, the two DGG's that I have handled both had slight play. I don't know if it's because of the thinned out Ti/G10 or not, it may have been coincidence.

All I know is that all four of mine were regular grip and they were all tanks.

And buy new if possible.

something to look at
