To my surprise I took a chance on a Strider knife and I am impressed. I received a Strider RCC yesterday from TAD Gear. I had read on different forums about how stout the Striders are, but the finish was rough. Well, the RCC I received has a great finish and is smooth as silk. The blade is a recurve blade made of S30 V with Tritium thumbstuds. This is the sharpest blade I've ever seen from a manufacture maybe except for my Spydie Caly ZDP. I know some love Strider and some say they are not worth the money, but let me tell you I am impressed. The ergonomics of the handle are excellent. I only have one thing that I do not really like and that is the bulky clip. But, overall I am very pleased with the feel, fit and finish of this knife. I hope you all get a chance to handle one. This one caught my eye mainly because of the blade, but I also like the liner lock and the fact that I am left handed this one works better for me. I will probably drill the handle for left handed carry. The lock up is solid and the blade centers perfectly. Here are some pics!

I just received mine (#062). I agree that, overall, it's a fine knife. The ergonomics, however, are not quite to my liking. It feels thick in my hand and the clip "stabs" my right had as I hold it. I'm considering removing the clip.

I'm also considering removing the clip, but it actually feels better in my left hand with the clip the way it is. I'm a lefty.

Congrats on your Strider. These knives are build like tanks:cool:

I got another one yesterday without the tritium thumbstuds. I removed the clip on it. It feels much better in my hand. I think I'll leave the clip off. I may get a sheath made to carry it. Funny thing was the clip felt better set up for right hand carry in my left hand than in the right hand. I think the clip is a little stubby and should be longer for better comfort against the palm of the hand. My 0.02.

Thanks for the review and pics I have been on the line about one of these for a while I think I'll take the plunge.....:D

I actually prefer to use a belt sheath to carry my folders. I think I'll look for one for my RCC.

Congratz on your fine purchase, Strider's take some flak but its usually just from other knife owners compare them to different types of knives (a gents folder it isnt.) hope you like it!

I have two Strider folders, and SMF and now an SNG. Both have perfect fit and finish and strong lockups. I can't say anything bad about Strider QC if these are the type of product they turn out.

Never bought a folder yet,but I like the strider knives they look very strong. I just bought a fixed blade few days ago and it's my first strider. It's small but very thick. that's what I like about them.
