So iv been carrying my sng for 2 weeks straight now (giving the sebenza a little break) and I have to say their s30v DA BOMB YO!!! LOL!! It keeps a wicked sharp edge for noticably longer then any other I have used!!! I am very impressed with their heat treatment on it Mr. Bos def got it right!!

I thought Bos isn't doing their blades anymore.

It's that much better? I've never had a problem with edgeholding on any Sebenza or Spyderco in S30V, but good to know the SnG is worth it. I haven't owned one.

I heard it was the same method just that he wasn't doing it personally all of the time, so they stopped labeling the blades as such, even for the ones that he did do

He himself isn't doin the HT but still the same process . And yes crk and spyderco do have great s30v but it is softer and just doesn't hold edge as long as the strider from my experience so far

just curious, why past tense?
Didn't you hear?
He just bought an XM-18 for $940!!! A THREE INCH XM-18!!!!

Back to reality, Striders S30V is treated harder than CRK's.

I really like my Sng. Both it and the Spyderco Para are two knives that I really wasn't too thrilled about at first. The more I used them, the more I liked them. Now they are my among my top three folders.

Perhaps if I bought an XM-18 for $940 I would have a new favorite knife....

Hahaha, you'd have to. ;)
Personally, I don't see myself getting a Strider or a Hinderer any time soon, since I've got a Poor Man's Strider: ZT0300. In fact, despite its lower status on the "Heyyy look what I've got" scale, I think I like it better than the Striders I've handled since it's got a liner under the G-10.

Yeah they do hold an edge for along time.

Whatever Strider is doing they got it right. :D

If you want a really poor man's Strider, try the BM Ritter Grip. Great cutter..

Nah, I've got my fair share of Axis-lock Benchmades, and plenty of other knives with S30V blades. By "poor man's Strider," I meant "knife with similar characteristics to those of a Strider, designed in collaboration with Mr. Strider, made with the same materials as a Strider, at less than half the price."

Well after reading this I decided to try out my newly recieved Strider PT on some boxes. I got the knife lightly used with the factory edge still on it. After 5 boxes it still shaved hair. I did have to push harder to shave than when I first got it but it's the only S30V blade that would shave after cutting cardboard. Most wouldn't do it after 1 box so I'm impressed with their HT of S30V. It still can't touch Yuna's ZDP laminated in ATS but is almost like a whole different steel when compared to the other S30V blades I've tried.

I have to say, the Bos treated S30v on the Striders I had was amazing, especially if you brought the edge angle down and polished it.
