Hi everyone ,anybody has or had compared sttrider sj-75 with hinderer xm-18 3 inch blade.Just interested to see comparison and opinions about those two knives, good or bad.Pics welcome.Thanks.

I can't compare them against each other but I have an SJ that I didn't think I would ever have and she's a big time keeper as far as I'm concerned. It's different to see that level of refinement in a Strider and I don't mean that as a dig. It's just that the SJ is not your typicla SMF or SNG is all and one of my favorite knives is my SMF. The SJ works extremely well and carrys small and light but the knife is not a "small knife" if you know what I mean. It works extremely well one handed too. The thumb slot opening radius is just the right size to open the blade without adjusting your grip half way through the opening radius and the lock bar releases extremely easily and the knife closes one handed quite nicely.

I don't have any intent to get rid of it at the moment ;)

I can see fit and finish are vastly improved over sng,smf models.Would you use sj75 as a edc only or its capable for tactical tasks too.

To be honest, I have never really understood what tactical use is versus EDC use. If you mean SD, the knife does not have your typical "tactical" attributes compared to my Yojimbo for example but the ergos and speed of deployment are good and fast respectively. As far as which Striders would be a better hard use folder, the SJ doesn't feel weak or Les Apt but the blade stock is not as thick as the SNG or SMF, the assembly points between the two slabs is only two, the pivot and the back standoff screw which doubles as the clip mount point too. The SNG and SMF are probably going to win a hard use contest but not by more than a click or two.

I like this knife a lot more than I thought I was going to. And that seems to be a common theme . . .

Well IMO tactical use knife is combat, self defence, hard field use and survival tool.I dont think sj75 is built for extreme usage but looks like is usable for tactical use.In the situation when resources are limited any sharp object can be used as a tool or a weapon.I like the size and looks of it and Iam kinda drawn by the sj75.Very interesting blade.:)

I just can't say enough good things about the sj75. The fit and finish is amazing and the ergos, blade shape etc are so well thought out.
