Well I really like the looks of the SLCC. Problem is they are crazy high on the 2ndary market. Kinda high right off the bat too I guess.

What are some alternatives?

There is no alternative ;)

not meaning to put fuel on the fire :)

I think stuff like the perrin la griffe is more or less the same idea, just in a smaller form, the emerson version is pretty sweet :)

There are lots of scale-less neck knives out there, just get what appeals to you. As far as being priced "kinda high" They are easily the cheapest way to get a Genuine Mick Strider Custom knife (with the exception of the Warren Thomas models maybe, which would be ground by... Warren Thomas I guess ;) ). Like it or not, Strider knives are popular and demand a high price. Mick's time is therefore quite valuable, and he charges accordingly. They sell out quickly, so they must be doing something right.

The blanks are water jet cut then hand ground my Mick in their shop. Every single SLCC is a custom blade. That's why the prices seem high, and even higher on the secondary market.

i have TAD version in the mail right now to me!!! cant wait.... the bottom one in the pic above is the one i have coming

Good points! I really like the traditional slight recurve version. As long as it has a Strider stamp I won't be picky who ground it. On another forum Mick said they were regular prodution items so I don't know if they are all custom?

All I know is if a retailer had them at the original 250 price I would pick one up today.

Not taking anything away from the SLCC (I'd like one) but I have a Ken Brock DD that is a similar concept, just with textured G10 scales.

although my new found likeness for the SLCC has led me to the Spartan Enyo as a less expensive and smaller fixed blade/necker
