Well I scored big time on the sales forum. I purchased a lightly used Strider SMF CC with Ranger green and flamed handle. The knife is light but built like a tank. Its almost strange how solid the SMF CC feels but without the weight you would expect. I really cant imagine anything that I could possibly do to beak this knife. Overbuilt is a accurate description. It has the strength of a knife like a ZT0301 with half the weight.

As you can see the the blade centering is perfect. I went over this knife several times and its fit and finish is perfect.

The knife had a decent factory edge but I put a 20 degree polished razor edge on it. The first time I ever tried to slice a water bottle and the Strider cut 2 bottles cleanly in half. Blade thickness of the SMF is .187! The polish is a mirror so in the pics it is reflecting my house in the background.

Obviously the SMF CC has no blade play and the
lock up sounds like a dried chicken bone snapping. One advantage of buying used is the knife is already broken in and very smooth.

I thought my ZT blades were thick...This blade is a hatchet at .187.

The weight is similar to, if not lighter than my Emerson CQC-11 that I carry every day. The Strider is balanced to perfection. The SMF CC is a perfect EDC for me. To sum it up, I do see a difference between a $200.00 knife and a $500.00 knife. Is the Strider worth the extra $$?? It is to me..:D

I love it! Someday, I will be as lucky as you. A CC SMF was the first Strider I ever handled, and ever sense then, Ive wanted to get one. I have a tanto SMF, but I still lust for a CC.

Congrats!! I LOVE the CC Striders. Way do go on the Ranger green CC SMF!!!

Thanks for the great photos mystro........good to see that you are enjoying your recently purchased knife. All that is missing are the photos you said you will be taking when going hunting (bowhunting if I recall) and using the strider.

Yea, after the edge I put on this beast, its gonna make short work of a whitetail deer. I cant get over the balance of the knife. It is not a understated point here. Its design is perfect. I mean this knife will butcher a deer without any hand cramps. The way the choil and jimping work together, the smoother G-10 of the CC isnt a factor when bloody. The edges of the CC are all smoothed out and G-10 handle are smooth the way it transitions into the spine of the knife. Strider eliminates all sharp 90degree angles. It feels like a titanium light saber.
