So, I find myself trying build my perfect strider SMF. And what I am wondering is if the non locking side of the handle... the part that is usually made of G10 is interchangeable from one SMF to the other. Or are they close enough to hand made that there is slight variation from knife to knife? Would say... a SMF CC model slab be replaceable by an aluminum scale? I understand that it wouldn't have the CC rounded thing going on... but would it fit?

Why do I always seem to ask questions no one knows the answers to.

No, I'm ASKING if they are all interchangeable.

According to Strider, no. I actually emailed them about buying a new green scale for one of my old black Lego SMF's, and they said that they can do it - but I'd have to send it in to be fitted. I don't see why it wouldn't just drop in, but then again I don't make the knives. I'm just giving you the info they gave me. :)

Thread Resurrection! One thing you might consider, is that the big, thick block of g10 acts as the blade stop when the knife is closed... This could have something to do with it.

Yea Strider says each knife is hand fitted together. An that franken-striders aren't warranty'd (not those exact words but close enough)
