Everwhere I have read its said that the SMF is a larger beefier knife, with extra length and a thicker blade ghen the SNG. But I have been looking at specs on other websites that says the blade thickness is the same. Does anyone have both and could you chime in with true specs, thanks.

^^This. I have both as well, and the blade thicknesses are as Popsickle stated.

I enjoy them both, i personally wouldnt go smaller than the SnG. i was considering a PT until i got my SnG in the mail an carried it, it is significantly smaller than the SMF.

I have a PT, SnG, and SMF and the blade thickness gets progressively thicker as you move up in model size:
PT = 1/8"
SnG = 5/32"
SMF = 3/16"

The SMF blade is fairly thick, it cuts good, but thick. Also, I prefer the SNG with the handle and choil ratio compared to the SMF. I large hands (Easily Palm basketball) but thin fingers and it just looks funny in hand for me. if you have larger fingers you may prefer the SMF. All reasons I recently traded my SMF's off.

I have shorter fingers but thick hands, I sold my old SNG & SMF, but the Sng went first. I ended up
ordering another Smf and it should be here in a few days. The SNG didn't fit my hands as well, the corner of the scales dug into my hand with hard use. I have a ZT551 coming too, we will see which fits better, might keep both.
Not sure why everyone keeps saying the thickness of all the striders are the same. Thanks everyone for chiming in.

Yeah, it is kind of strange, although if I had to guess, I'd say that the prevalence of inaccurate information on dealers' websites is the main reason.

The SMF came and it fits great. Kind of wish I went with the CC version, just cause it would be easier passing my hand while digging in my pocket. Next question, can I get another scale to switch back and forth between cc and standard g10 grip from strider? Also, what oil or grease do you guys use to keep your knives smooth?

I use Blue Lube for my knives. Seems to work better than the CRK grease and attracts less dust.

I would strongly suggest having a custom scale made for the knife. Mostly because I've never heard of a CC scale sold by itself.

Awesome, glad to hear that you like your new SMF!

To answer your questions, Strider doesn't sell aftermarket scales. And in any case, they don't like people altering/"pimping"/disassembling their knives: it's basically the one thing you can do to your Strider that'll void the warranty. As far as lubricant for the pivot, I use Boesheid T-9, which also serves as a rust inhibitor for the blade: it works great in both roles. The main thing that you'll need to do so get the knife smoother, though, will simply be to open and close it a bunch of times to break it in.
