Good knife, very expensive, carries well in cargo pockets/not in typical jeans pocket, lanyard hole is in line with tip of blade/will cut if lanyard cord is strung through both holes, pocket clip is only for right side/ tip up carry (this is on the ti/g10 model I have, not the new ti/ti version).
Here's my slant: For the money, you can purchase other knives of similiar material, similiar size with better pocket clip placement options, and true lanyard holes. I'm issued the Strider, but carry a Spyderco Manix II S90v, and a Zero Tolerance 0301. I dislike the Striders lack of a real lanyard hole, and the one position pocket clip. I like the rugged construction, great blade profile, and the high quality materials. The other thing to keep in mind is that you'll need a "spanner" wrench for the Strider (which many differant models are available through numerous BF members, bhyde makes a great one!), and the ZT is adjustable with a pair of plyers. This is only a concern if you think that you'll need to clean or make adjustments in the "field".
These are just my feelings for the SMF. Good luck, and let us know what you end up with.
