I had the blade refinished in Black-T. The blade was looking pretty ratty, plus it was speckling with rust frequently. So I thought I would give this a shot and see how it works out. I've read finishes can sometimes make cutting more difficult but this feels low friction. Can't see it making too much of a difference.
CCR Refinishing did the job. Didn't name him originally because I didn't want the post to seem like a plug. He's done other work for me which has been well done. As for the coating: I take it back (its' not black t) - I believe it's CCR Ceramic finish. I didn't ask which one, just told him to put his recommended matte black finish on the blade.
