Hi BF Brothers,
I’m looking for some info on this SMF. I did some searching and couldn’t find a comparable blade design on any other SMF’s. It has a Hinderer lock stop, a partially faded Strider logo and BOS S30V stamped on blade.
Thanks

I’m not a Strider expert, but I believe what you have there is a Gen-2 Strider SMF. The First generation didn’t have an LBS at all, then the second generation ones had the LBS with Hinderer stamped on them. I believe the blade shape is because it is just from a special run of production recurves. There are special early SMF’s like this known as “Suspect SMF’s” with a recurve but this isn’t one of them. All the ones I’ve seen like that also have an upper swedge grind and are not full flat ground like yours.

I’d say you definitely have something rare and fairly valuable with the production recurve blade. I’d definitely hang onto it if I were you

I believe Mick made a few "custom" SMFs. I think you have one of them. Is the blade stamped "Strider" or "M. Strider"?

It's a Gen 2 Production SMF(as stated above) tiger stripe blade and flamed lockside-that much I am pretty sure of
The recurve though is a ?-factory or pimped. looking at the sharpening choil depth, I am thinking pimped(opinion corrected below). But I am not sure. They did put out limited runs of recurves for some production knives(I don't know about SMF's), so it could be factory.
I'll see if I can come up with anything more on it.

I did find an old listing for one(another forum) and it looked pretty much like yours
so, it is likely legit factory
They estimated the date as 2002(ad was 2014), but more likely 2004, 2005 for a Gen 2 SMF
They also said their knife still had the factory edge
It's a pretty uncommon knife. They didn't do recurves often

Thanks for sharing appreciate it! He showed the BOS stamp but I couldn’t see any stamp on other side of blade. The pics you posted is exactly like the one I have same stamps and all. That click sounds familiar too👍🏻
