Hi, I just purchased this Strider SnG from a seller who just bought it from another and after examining it closely I’m not sure if this is a tiny broke n tip or just normal for this model. The steel is S30V. Regardless it’s easy enough for me to fix but seller was pretty sure it had never been used or sharpened. I’m just curious if this is indeed a broken tip.

I had 3 SnG's at one time (I no longer have them), but I remember that one of the 3 came from Strider with a tip like that. I remember, because I emailed Mick about it. He offered to replace it at the time, but it was no big deal for me to fix, either.

I'd be more concerned about that faint white semi-circle line just under your red circled area. Is that a crack, surface blemish or just a trick of the camera/lighting?

I’m guessing it came from Strider like that. I couldn’t see evidence of a “break” even under magnification but it just looks so off. I dusted off the old work sharp elite and fixed it, I am always nervous sharpening my good knives but I think I’m getting better and was careful not to take off much steel at all. Learned my lesson on a KME which took forever on harder steels even with diamond stones. At least with the work sharp elite I can get a burr after 1 or 2 passes and rarely need to grab the coarsest belt. It can definitely take off a lot of steel if not really careful.View attachment 1849378

No that white circle was from my photo editing before I changed pen color to red. I didn’t realize it was drawing lol

You'd have to look at the tip straight on to judge whether it was broken - if you see the grain it's broken, if not, not. Side view doesn't help much here. In any case, you've already fixed it. Looks good.
