Strider SnG DGG issue

I have had this knife for a couple of weeks and have worked it a hell of a lot opening and closing and it is still hard (stiff) to open. My question is: Is it normal for there to be a wear mark on the bottom of the blade (shank) where the ball in the lock portion on the titanium handle rides along that part? I have a permanent arc there now. Please advise if that is normal?

I am beginning to think that this knife is not supposed to be a smooth opener in the sense that it is easy to open. If I loosen the pivot ever so slightly, the blade shows play when open and still opens stiffly. It also makes a noise opening that while not screeching...is noticable. Is that just the way these knives are?

Thanks.

Definitely not the way mine is. I'd send it in for warranty. Make sure you check out strider's web page for instructions to send it in. I've personally sent in a SMF for warranty due to blade play and I couldn't have been happier with the experience including the frequent updates that I received from Josh.

Good luck.

Mine show that mark. I had this same exact issue with a Spyderco Military. I sprayed a tiny amount of Pam in the pivot and it immediately got better. Then it stopped needing it. Some people say that lubes attract dirt and debris, but the knife is in my pocket most of the time so it's really not an issue. Ymmv
