I'm not really up on Strider and I took this one in on trade to try it out. I would like to know if anyone can ID its generation and possibly let me know why it would only have one thumbstud? It seems a little easier to open missing it on the right side but I want to make sure its legit before moving forward in the trade. The explanation on the thumbstud was that it was replaced that way from Strider at request. I was a little surprised they would do that at request. I probably being paranoid but better safe the sorry with all the counterfeits out there. All the other details of the knife seem in order, weight, steel, logo sharpness

They are not thumb studs at all. They are blade stops. I've never seen a Strider with just one blade stop. This is a first for me. Even though the blade stop on the G10 side does not touch the G10, it's there or should be there. Don't have any experience with sending one in for work to be done, but from what I've read, Strider fixes a problem and is not into custom work.
It may be legit and all, I would not buy/trade for a Strider with just one blade stop, but that's just me.
The pic of the blade steel stamp is blurred and can't be made out. If you could get a clearer pic of the steel stamp, that would help out a bunch.

The "strider" stamp does not match mine SNG CC. Your's is a smaller font, centered, and evenly struck. Where as mine is about 1/3 larger and closer to the thumb slot. But mine is an earlier SNG CC and there have been variations on that stamp. A better picture of the logo side would do wonders like Ajack said.

I will say that the blade stop does look well executed at least, never seen one like that before though.

interesting....having only having one bladestop caught my eye pretty quick. Im not an expert but I have never seen a SnG with only one. I want to hear from the experts as well to see if this is legit

Here are two pics of known fake logo's from another forum:

Your knife looks legit compared to other newer SNGs. Note the rounded flying penis wings and shiny paint like coating hardware on the fake.

I wouldn't trade for it personally. Mick has said that any Strider knife sent into them will be returned to the state which it left the factory originally. I really doubt they would use a one sided blade stop. If the original owner did that mod, the warranty is very likely voided. However I'm not a Strider expert, that could be a factory done mod. As far as I can tell though, the rest of the knife looks legit.

So my trader was kind enough to provide the original sales thread from July sheading some more info on it. I'm not too sure I agree with the thought that that blade stop pin does nothing I would think it stabilizes it if needed in that direction.

I guess this one would have user written all over it until it dies. Does anyone know someone who can make this little guy whole again?

Its the minor part in the trade agreement. The big concern was that its not counterfeit.

I believe without a doubt that it is a legit Strider with a monkeyed blade stop. If the knife is solid, you like it and the price is good, I'd go for it.
