Strider SNG Issue

This is my first Strider so Im not sure if this is common. Near about every time I Flick Open my New Strider SNG its smooth and locks right up. The problem is the lock up is so much it takes two hands to unlock it. If I open it by pushing the blade the lock up is not as tight. My knife came Cerakoted and was wondering if that is what is making the lock up so tight. Has anyone had these same issues and/or anybody have any ideas for a solution.

If there's any oil where the lockup occurs it can cause it to lock up a bit further than if it's clean. Try cleaning where the 2 surfaces meet with some alcohol and apply some pencil lead or sharpie ink to the back of the blade where the lock bar hits. That helps.

+1 for pencil lead or sharpie. Should fix the problem right up!

Are there striders WITHOUT issues?

Unfortunately yours is probably perfectly normal bro.....

"Sticky" locks when new isn't a Strider thing...it's a titanium frame-lock thing.
Not all do it when new, but many do, whether it be from ZT, Spyderco, or even customs.

It's also something that goes away entirely over time with opening and closing.

Yes stabman, I understand that. I was just in a broad generalization type of mood;)

But I'm also not specifically talking about sticky locks. I see so many complaints about striders nowadays that it just seems like the good ones are actually the exception rather than the rule.......

I've been lucky to not have issues with mine, but knives is the area of life I've been most lucky in. ;)
