Strider SNG lock face question.

Are you referring to the scalloped (vs. flat) area where the lock bar engages?

If so, there are several folders that have this tang profile, not just Strider.

It is relieved this way to allow for wear, yet still provide correct lock up. It provides more engagement surface as it wears, as opposed to being flat in that area.

Thanks! Wasn't sure what the correct term for it was, but yes. Never seen one angled that way. So does that mean once the lock reaches the edge of the "scalloped" tang area it'll shift over diagonally to match the entire area?

Your knife will be long worn out if the tang ever wears to that extent! But yes, the engagement surface will remain relatively constant regardless of how much wear occurs.
