Strider SnG or CRK Sebenza?

When looking at higher end folders for actual use, there are a few considerations to make. Of these are lock security, comfort when using, the number of secure grips you can have on the knife, and overall asthetic appeal.

I have heard of troubles with lock security with the SnG model. Is there any reason to pay attention to these when considering one of these high end folders?

Which folder do you prefer, and why?

Thanks
Luke

I prefer the Sebbie because they make them left handed and the Seb does everything I need in a folding knife.

I've never heard of a Strider lock fail to the point of closing. I have had Strider Framelocks that had lockups that allowed blade play. I PREFER the SnG of the two choices but I would have a dealer that I respect hand pick one for me or pick it up in person if possible so you don't get a dud. YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary)

ps. You don't have to worry about getting a good one with CRK cuz they are ALL perfect.

Striders have cool blades with ugly handles. A full-sized Sebbie is nicer looking, and although they are a little plain, they have excellent action and they're even more sheeple friendly, if that means anything to you. I do really think the Sebbie could use a nice opening hole like the Strider SnG though :)

I have both and like both very much. The only drawback to the SnG is the bead blasted blade which is a little harder to keep clean. That being said they are both great knives and either one will serve you well.

I've owned both and they both are amazing with very strong individual personalities...
no matter how long it takes to save, get both. you can always sell the one you like least and hardly loose money as they both hold their value.
BUT with that said.. the SNG hands down.
1) awsome grippy g10 on the one side
2) amazing ergo's
3) the big choil behind the blade is very useful and sweeeeeet
4) no questions warrenty
5) opens easier then the seb
6) strider smell.. *sniff* ahhhhh

all the other +'s I can think of are equally matched by the seb

My vote is easily for the SnG (I EDC a 6K one) but this topic has been beaten to death if you do a search.

Is there a significant difference in the blade thickness between the two?

1) Find an example of each.
2) Handle them both.
3) Decide which feels better in YOUR hand.
4) Buy it.

Or buy both.

had both, traded the sng. great knife, but i found a little thick for pocket carry. and the clip dug into the palm of my hand when using.

for me the sebenza is the cadillac of folders. simple, thin, elegant, tough, clean lines, classic blade shape.

sng is like a humvee.

i have both, both are pretty good imho, i prefer the SnG, just fits my hand better.

I have and like both but I do carry the Sebenza a fair bit more.

Fit issues on the SnG bother me somewhat.

Out of these two - Sebenza for me. Just damn fine knife. Tool.

My Strider folder is on the way... but not SnG. Waiting for DDC RC :D
