Strider SNG or Smf cc?

Ok, I know this has all been done to death, but i am having a difficult time locating this exact info.
So, i want a Strider (for better or for worse - depending on who you ask, right?) and my choices seem to be an Sng, Smf cc or Smf lego (regular).
Is the Smf cc thinner than the regular Sng or vice versa?
Which one is more robust or tougher?
Should i just say "screw it" and get the regular (lego) Smf? Looks a little too thick for me to carry often...and if it's at home it doesn't matter how tough it is right?:o
Which one is easier to pocket carry clipped?

I am looking for toughness in a still comfortably edc'able blade or more likely when i anticipate i will need something beefier than an Endura...:confused:

Man, any advice will be appreciated, due to me not being able to pre-handle before purchasing and also due to the fact that these are not cheap...It would be nice to get it right the first time.

Thanks again!

The SNG is too small for me, I have the full size SMF, not the CC and am very happy with it. It is thick, but not all that heavy. I find it carries quite well.

Overall thickness is going to be the same between the CC and Lego SmF, the differences are the CC is tapered and rounded with smooth G10 and Ti.

There is nothing weak about either the SmF or SnG in any form.

If you break a Strider you were trying too break it.

smf overall thickness: .54"
smf blade thickness: .19"
sng overall thickness: .47"
sng blade thickness: .16"
sng cc overall thickness: .47" at thickest point, .33" at thinnest
sng cc blade thickness: .17"

blade thickness was measured forward of the stop pin.

i don't have an smf cc. i like both the lego and cc, but the tapering on the cc makes it far more pocket friendly.

The CC will feel much thinner in your pocket due to the tapered/rounded handles. And if you are concerned about carry bulk then go with the CC if you can afford to. Some people say having the CC handles weakens the knife a bit and it might, BUT if your doing something were it makes a difference between CC and lego then you probably should have a fixed blade or pry bar. The CC will be easy on your pocket because it is smooth as well as contoured.

I wouldnt compare SNG lego to SMF CC really. Maybe decide if you want lego or CC and then decide if you want a 3 inch cutting edge or 3 1/4 cutting edge. Many people EDC SNG's and SMF's. Hope that helps.

Jeez, thanks everybody for such quick and helpful replies, i appreciate it.
Those pics and specs are great morimotom!
Great vids up on You Tube as well Ankerson. Super helpful and i'm sure many are grateful as i am.
I realize either knife style would serve me well, but i
think it's the price that plays havoc with my decision so much for me.
I guess it really is between the regular Sng and the Smf cc...Can anyone sway me?? I take it the Sng will still come in a bit thinner than the Smf cc although not as contoured? I'm likin' that blade stock on the Smf cc though...

if i were in the market right now, i would get the smf cc with cpm 3v blade.

i can email you the site if you like.

there is also an smf with cc lock side, and lego (w/ american flag) g10 side. it has a cpm s110v blade.

and i read there will be an sng cc with cpm s110v blade.

lotsa options.

Thanks for the comments. :)

Personally I like the SmF CC, they carry great.

SnG is a little too small for me.

Toughness is not a issue with any of them.. You won't break either. I EDC a SMF GG without any issues. So light I don't know I am carrying it.

Hmmm, voice of friendly dissent here. I think the ergos of the SnG are really better - for me - than the SMF, and I have pretty large hands. I don't think you'd regret either, however, and you may find that you eventually wind up with both... ;)

I have large hands...the SNG is Not long enough in the handle to be comfortable. Get the SMF if you have big hands.
I had the SMF cc....traded it because I didn't use it enough. The SFM cc carries welll in the pocket IMO.
