I have a question, i recently picked up a strider sng dgg flamed with the bos heat treatment.
My question is my knife has both the scales flamed on it, so does that mean that both scales are titanium? does strider make an all ti sng?
All the ones i see are ti lockside and g10 on the other, since you can't flame g10 i'm assuming they are both ti, they both look exactly alike and it's a super light knife for it's size.
If it is an all ti, is it a fairly rare model, the person i bought it from got it as a present and didn't know too much about it... by the way it's in like new condition and i got it for 285.00 shipped. Did i make out?
This is my first strider and am fairly new to the brand, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Scott

If you got an all Ti SnG for 285.00 it could be one of two things, a fake or the deal of a lifetime! I have seen quite a few fakes recently so I am hoping for the other.

Never seen an all Ti DGG either, but that is not to say that one has not been made.

I remember reading on the Strider forum that DGG with flamed titanium is very rare.

I have also never seen a production Strider with titanium on both sides. I have only seen customs with titanium on both sides.

I'm thinking it is a fake. :( Post some pictures if you want more accurate answers.

Well, I don't think you can have flamed G10, so you probably have two titanium scales. Never saw one; never even heard of that, and I've had quite a few Striders. atony is likely correct in his opinion.
Interesting question.

It looks like the real deal, it's got s35v steel with the boz heat treat logo on the blade and is extremely smooth, no blade play and centered.
Like i said the person i got it from got it as a present and didn't know about striders they also had excellent feedback... whatever that counts for.

Paul Bos didn't heat treat the s35 blades. Not to mention I've never seen a dual titanium dgg sng. I'm gonna have to go with it being a fake. Sorry man. Def looks cool.

As Mikey said the Bos logo stopped long before S35VN was in use.

Sure does look like a badass knife.
Sorry that it is most likely a fake. :(

After some Googling it looks like it is a Kevin John ripoff that goes for ~$200 on eBay.

The BOS stamp is a red light for sure. Take one of the screws out and see if the nut has checkered knurling.
I'm thinking fake.

So is it actually an s35v blade then or some other or some other steel type?

Was it listed as a Strider or Strider inspired. I would open a dispute if they misrepresented the knife. Sold it as a genuine Strider. I would definitely be trying to get my money back.

It was listed as a strider sng dgg and my 45 days have passed already.
I know i should have posted sooner here but hindsight is 20/20.
No more knife purchases on the bay, i'll stick to the forums.
I did contact ebay and they in turn are going to contact seller on my behalf... not holding my breath.

That sucks. I've sold a few SnG's on there, but I see a lot of fakes. Strider, and Chris Reeve have been cloned a lot.

I would throw a fit.
This crap makes me mad!
I feel for you, but at least you learned an important lesson.
