Just got a Strider SNG tanto w/ digi camo finish today. Very nice ergonomics. I like it. Fits my hand like a glove. The pivot pin looks sturdy but it seems to rotate. But before I get a hex and start making adjustments/tightening....Is this normal or does it need tightening?

Just like the guys said, as long as there's no blade play. It's all good. I have one like that but it's an SMF

As mentioned above, if there's no blade play, you're fine. If you start noticing some, either take it apart and then reassemble it or send it into the Strider shop with 15$. They've got one of the best warranties around.

It's your knife, do as you see fit, but.
I don't let mine rotate, why - The movement of hardened steel pivot pin will eat up the G10, and may cause prob's later(there is ONLY G10 on one side, no steel).
Point:
#1. Mick and the boys should have used locktite(prob'l didn't). Check your clip don't want to loose it.
#2. Then check your pivot pin for locktite it's important.
You need a "spanner" - make one cheep with thin sheet metal(large Xacto blade works well) and a 1/8" Hex.
#3. DON'T USE A LOT OF LOCKTITE - apply a little in MIDDLE of thread body.
#4. If you use too much locktite you may have to use a soldering iron later.

Cool. Im new to the world of Striders and I wanted some ideas from my forum brothers on what to do and you guys have come through as usual :-)
I will be picking up a Strider/Hinderer tool from Blueline and I will tighten some to see how that works, specifically how it affects the rotation and if it makes the blade more difficult to open. I like its ease of opening and dont want to spoil it. If not dissasembly or a trip back to Strider might be in order sometime in the future.

In the meantime, I must say I like the multitude of grip options and its rugged looks. It has temporarily replaced my small sebenza for pocket carry. I have used it for minor cutting chores and its growing on me. Thanks guys.
