I just got a strider sng tanto. I didn't think I would like it much but I got a good deal on it so I pulled the trigger... But I do!! Haha it really smooth and I just really like the look in hand.
Any way it didn't come very sharp at all and it is a new knife. Now I can sharpen a knife just fine. but it is my opinion that knives should come saving sharp from any manufacture. Especially a 400 dollar knife.

Anyway I was wandering the lowest angle you can take it down to with out the making the edge look funky? And what is the lowest angle on the tip you could go? I am using a edge pro apex sharpener.

Reason I am asking this is because I took my quatermaster QSE5 to 15 degrees per side and it is nice and stinking sharp but it brought the edge bevel so high up the side of the knife it looks pretty funky.

So I'm just asking because I don't want to make my SNG edge to look like that. Thanks guys!!

Some time ago i did this Strider SNG Tanto for a Dutch forum member.
The straight edge was done on my Tormek T7 and measures 30 degrees inclusive, and the slanted edge was done on my Wicked Edge and measures 40 degrees inclusive. (zero edge)
With your Edge Pro Apex you probably could do something comparable.
