I recently picked up a Strider SNG Lego with a 3/4 grind. I have had a few SNG's, but this is the first one I have encountered that has a number engraved on the blade. Can any of the Strider experts explain to me what this number means and if it is common? Thanks in advance.

I'm curious as well, I assume it's a serial number thing that they've started recently. My new SnG tanto has it, but my older SnG does not.

Edit: Perhaps it is not a serial number, mine is 13033. I doubt we're lucky enough to have sequential serial numbers.

Misanthropia, I second the fact that we cannot be lucky enough to have consecutive serial numbers. It is comforting to know I am not alone. My Strider, although I bought it used looks brand new. It appears as though this engraved numbering is something new to Strider's. Could it possibly be used by Strider to identify blade shapes? 13033 for tanto and 13032 for 3/4?

That is bothering me as well, number on mine is 13049 and it is SNG DGG Green. Maybe somehow it is a fake?? I'm reading on about perfect clones and I am getting paranoid. I paid right price for it, but bought mine in European shop. Appreciate if someone could clear what these numbers mean.

I recently bought a SNG DGG Brown from Austria and it has the same number (13049) so it can't be a serial number but probably signifies blade shape and type (DGG). My older lego SnG has no number on the blade.

I am afraid, this info has never been revealed to the public, but they are legit
I just re-read the thread I had seen elsewhere and will put up a possible that may hold water
13033= 3/4 tanto
13032=3/4 grind
13049=Full flat grind
These seem to hold with what you have put up, but we will see
Other possibilities that were posted

Revisiting this older thread out of curiosity. I recently received a new SNG DGG with a blade numbered 15019. Curious if the beginning numbering denotes the year the blade was made? My older lego sng has the above mentioned 13049 that has already been discussed. Both are standard full flat grind spear point blades, but the older one appears to have slightly less belly towards the tip than the newer DGG blade. Just curious if the ending numbers (019 and 049) denote some slight variation in blade profile? Or are there some slight variations between profiles found naturally throughout the manufacturing? I should mention that both are CPMS30V steel to rule out variations in metal.

The first one of mine I noticed that had what I thought was a serial number was a frame lock AR. I figured it was just something new they were doing
never really payed any more attention to it. I only buy mine from legit dealers so I would assume that whatever these numbers signify they mean the
opposite of being a fake. If you guys are just curious I would continue the research, but I wouldn't worry about the numbers meaning that the knives
are fakes.
Best of luck.

Supposed to be a means to foil counterfeiters.

I would agree, but only the guys at Strider would have the correct answer.

It may be a way to help keep track of what they make and all the benefits that come with that when there are so many countnerfiets out there....

It's on all of the 'newer' Strider knives I have owned.
