Hey Room,

perhaps someone here might be able to help me: can anyone explain the apparent difference in grind in the two pics (borrowed from buckknives.com and tadgear.com)? Any other (owner)comments on this knife? Does anyone know if a Tanto version is planned?

Thanks, Christiaan.

That's an easy one!

The top pic is of the old style grind, and the bottom one is of the new style grind.

As for a tanto version, there is nothing that I am aware of like that. However, there are some new Buck/Strider fixed blades in the works, some that look like the Strider WB knife and such.

Gotta love them Buck/Striders!

Oh, alright, that solves it. And hey, can't wait to see that WB-like collacoration..

Thanks a lot, Christiaan.

Actually, the top pic is the prototype pic that was widely distributed before the knife was released. Some websites still use it, but the grind was changed for the production Solutions. The TAD photo is the pic of the Solution up until about 6 months ago (according to Josh). Now the Solutions are hollow ground about 2/3 of the way up and have a full thickness spine to the top of the blade. BTW that sheath in the bottom pic is not made by SOE. Only the earlier Solutions came with genuine SOE sheaths. The limited run of BG-42 Solutions didn't have them either, but I've seen a BG-42 Solution in Japan that had it.

I wish instead of a nylon sheath they provided a plastic or kydex sheath, like the Al Mar SERE Operator sheath.
