I was just wondering, I've heard of people sending in their striders when their lockup gets very late and strider somehow fixing this? How do they do this? Obviously they don't replace the whole locksie of the knife so how do they fix late lockup?

On another forum they say that it is not a cap but a stepped pin. The part that presses into the blade is the same but the Ti/contact side is machined stepped up/thicker. It seems like a pretty smart/easy fix IMO. I have an SnG with pretty late lock up. The detent ball is around 1/32nd away from touching the g10 side. I wouldn't imagine they would do anything to a knife unless there is blade movement in the open/locked position.

I had an smf I got in trade with a stepped pin as Archie described. My sng dgg pin got loose enough to push in and out with my thumb one day when I had it on my lap getting out of my truck. Strider replaced it with the same style pin. It worked fine when I got it back with earlier lock up but the new pin was sized for a Lego sng because it stuck out further on each side than the original pin of the dgg.

Yep, this is the fix.

I was also wondering about this as I have an old lockup PT and was wondering if they would update it to the new lockup or not. Im planning on emailing them about it soon to see.

If you don't have lock rock they probably won't do anything. I doubt they regrind the tang on old blades to make the new lock up. They would have to replace the titanium lock side also most likely. If you do have lock rock they will put a new larger stop pin in the blade.
