Wanna start this by:

I love this knife. It's my grail. I absolutely adore it and Strider as a company. No intent of harm or disrespect in this post.

The blade on my Strider, when closed, rattles, when shaken.

There is "up and down" play when closed. Here are two pics to show where the blade rests at both ends. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353955963.483351.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1353955973.483567.jpg

My hunch is that the detent hole is a tad bigger than the detent ball.

I was going to attach a lanyard on it, but I'd rather wait until this is figured out as I'd prefer the blade to not be rubbing back and forth.

Let me know if this happens to any of your guys' SNGs.

Thanks.

I have a used SNG CC... it does it just a little bit, but only when I push on it with a finger, not when I shake it. I'm not worried about it at all. Is yours brand new?

I've had the same problem. Loosen all the screws, including the pivot. Push up on the lock side, while simultaneously pushing down on the G10 side. Tighten all screws starting at the clip end. Problem solved. :)

This has worked on both of my new SMFs that had this issue.

Yep. New. It's an Arctic Grey KnifeArt exclusive. View attachment 314744

I was hoping you'd comment. :)
I've tried to get the pivot off, and to no avail. I'll try again.

Any tricks?

Just tired what you said. There is less play now. There is still some. I feel that if I try to do the same thing again tho, the Ti wi be offset with the G-10 on the back. It's already slightly higher.

I'd send it in.
Attach the lanyard through the hole on one side of the hole only. Para cord with the guts out, works nicely.

I bought a PT used. One previous owner broke the tip and then did a lousy job of regrinding the tip, but it was close enough that the owner before me was unaware of it. I saw this once I had the knife in my possession. Sent it to Strider to regrind and make it look like it's supposed to. They reground the blade, sharpened it, but couldn't get the pivot out, as one previous owner had glued it in so tightly. Strider Service finally drilled it out and put in a new pivot, and it's now on the way back to me with a tight lock, reground and sharpened blade and problem free. All for $15 mailing fee.
I would challenge you to point out any other company's Customer Service that would do something like this for a new owner.
Yes, I'm impressed. I presently own five Striders in various flavors and I'm proud of every one of them.

 Wow! Nine posts in a Strider thread (10 including this one) and no negative comments? I think we have set a new record. I'm so proud of us.

I BELIEVE THAT A PERFECT TEN IS A PERFECT TEN. Not a bad place to stop.

I've recently come to the realization that I enjoy Strider knives for what they are...blade play and all. The knives, overall, are excellent and feature rich. I have knives that are built to be "perfect" (CRK, Shirogorov) and the Striders fall short in the F&F game but excel in other areas. I can induce blade play in my Gen 7 SnG but it does not bother me. In fact it is my favorite knife. While most of my knives are up for most tasks, my SnG excels by design & is covered by Warranty for all but the most absurd abuse. I'm almost always up for using the right tool for the right job, but my SnG/SmFs have always looked up at me and said "F**k it."

Over time the wiggle has completely gone away after I jiggled the handles.

But now the lock is sticky again. It was like this when I first got the knife. It went away over time. Maybe this will too.
I'll give it some time.

Sticky Lock bar on any Ti frame lock try the Old Pencil on the lock surface trick the fine coat of graphite will keep it from sticking and help reduce wear a small bit.
