Strider washer material, what is it?

I'm researching the Strider SMF.Does anyone who owns one know what the washer material is?

Research complete. I handled both the Chris Reeve and the Strider. Reeve is well made, but seems more delicate than the Strider. Sorry Reeve fans, which I know there are plenty of on the forum. I'm getting the Strider. Will post pics when in. My purposes are hard use, fixed blade substitute and possible defense while walking to the parking lot in a very bad part of L.A. post work at a hospital.
