I recieved a WP-2 from http://www.tadgear.com about 2 weeks ago. This is a utility/survival type fixed blade. The cutting edge measures 3 1/2". The blade is 3/16" thick. Overall length is 7 1/2". It has a really cool subdued tiger stripe aluminum oxide blast finish on it. One side of the blade has the Strider name on the guard, and the other side has thier symbol. The advertized steel is ATS-34, but mine came stamped BG-42, with the BOS heat treat stamp. The handle has a paracord (550 cord) wrap on it. I like this alot cause if I am in the field and I damage the wrap I can change it. As soon as I recieved the knife I coated the whole thing with my Tuf-Cloth. This should help with corrosion resistance. The Sheath is kydex and comes with a removable large TEC lock. I took it off and have been wearing it as a neck knife. I havn't had the chance to give this knife a real work out yet. Just some small cutting tasks that this knife just laughs at. At the price TAD offers this knife at I don't think anyone has an excuse not to buy a Strider, unless it's not your cup of tea. I rate the fit and finish of this knife outstanding, and with Strider's great warranty you can't go wrong.

Hello USAFSP,
I am from HK, strider price double (or more) here!
eg a BG42 -BG cost almost USD1200!

so I decided to order it online fm US and good online shop suggest?
Thanks

I thought the WP-2 was 1/4" stock..at least the one I had was.

I thought it was a great knife, just about perfectly sized, at a great price. I had meant to thin out the edge a bit to make it a more efficient slicer, but I ended up trading mine away.

the WP series is made from left over steel from making the more expensive striders, most of them are made from 1/4" ats-34 which is used to make most striders. but, some of them are made from 3/16" bg-42, the same steel in the AR and GB.
either way they kick a$$:D

payback462,

Ah, that clears it up, thanks for the info on that. I think I would actually prefer the WP-2 in 3/16" BG-42, as opposed to the 1/4" ATS-34 version that I had.

I guess I will keep an eye out for the different versions.

Thanks USAFSP
let me try our some on stock item on tadgear.com 1st!
coz I can't wait! ;)
the shop say Japan price them much higher, they already price them cheap! even a strider folder price $4800 HKD which is USD 615 more than double !
I think I better wait for few months to order that on tadgear.com..

Good Luck
