Strideranians, we are One! (+ a BD question)

Hello fellow Strideranians,

My first Strider is on the way!!...a big thank you to Neil Ostroff (www.truenorthknives.com) for picking up a BD for me at the Blade Show.

Neil sent me pics (below) of the knife and I noticed that the tip profile is not the same as the BD pictured in American Handgunner (Tactical 2002 Annual)...is mine a newer model or older one? If it is newer, why was the tip profile changed? Was it for manufacturing/cost cutting reasons or performance issues?
