I have a satin FSH with black paper coming to me shortly and also a ASH that I plan to strip, blast and rehandle with solid pins for an old school look. Both are my grail knives. And that would be it...I sold my Basic 7 and a few other things to finance the deal...and that would complete my collection, right?

Well, I was just looking on the For Sale forum and saw some old school Busses for sale. I forgot how much I love the SHSH Humpback. By the time I could afford one the FSH caught my eye. It's super cool that Jerry put out the ASH, I wonder if he would consider making a few retro Humpbacks with the same straight smooth handles and solid pins. I think even the old smooth black coating would be awesome. Anyone care to share photos and info on the humpbacks?

I will share what I know: They are perfection and the OLD smooth coating must be made from infi dust.....it last forever!!

Pry it out of my cold dead fingers ..... go ahead, I dare ya! :p

letherman,
That is a great set!
So, would this model be considered a SHII ?
How long is the blade on those? I assume they are all A2?

Thank you! :)

When they first debuted they were called the Steel Heart II

When the Next generation SHSH came out with the half moon pommel it was still referenced as the Steel Heart II so the earlier one started being known as the Birds Beak Steel Heart II.

Yes, all BBSHSHII's are A2.

Blade on mine is 7 3/4" They range from just under that to a full 8" as they were largely hand finished.

As you can tell from Ducci's sale post there were several variations of the BBSHSHII's: "Humpback", Straight blade (toward the end of the run), Fatty and a few right at 1/4".
