I have a green tank buster and there is not much finish left on the blade, I'm thinking of stripping the finish off but do not want to remove the handle slabs my two options are chemical stripping or bead blasting, has anyone bead blasted with the handles on and how did it turn out?
Pics and feedback would be great, thanks.

I chemical stripped a few of mine. All turned out OK. Some finishes are harder to remove than others, but you just let them soak longer.

Chemical strip works great. It wont harm the handles, and it leaves the coating under the handles intact.

I have glass bead blasted an original TG and my NMFSH. Both the G10 and black canvas held up well and showed no signs of real "wear", the black canvas showed no sings at all besides getting a little lighter in color, but they darkened up again with use. The G10 had a very, very light sandpaper feel to them but as long as you don't hold the blast in one spot for to long you will be fine.

On the NMFSH I chemically stripped it first then bead blasted.

If you have never bead blasted anything before don't start on a Busse, plus bead blasting will take the logo off unless you etch it first. Hope this helps.

I would chemical strip. Blasting can be tricky at first and like stated above, I wouldnt use one of my knives to learn on.
