Strip and Blue your blades?

Has anyone done this with a Becker? I know everyone strips their blades, and uses blue to etch, but on two blades I have stripped, polished and blued them. And then I sand most of the blue off with 3000grit, and re-blue, then polish some more till I get a nice subdued look. Considering doing it to a Becker, but I am wary what it would look like.

If you just want to see the finished product, skip to the very end where there are pics.

I also did it to the Cold Steel Cutlass Machete. I think it looks pretty cool....just hesitant about doing it to one of the girls. If I don't like it, it is a lot of work to get it back to where it was.

Soooo.....anyone got a blue blade?

Most of mine have the potential to be used on food, so I don't blue them. Vinegar won't be quite as dark, but it will give it a nice matte grey patina.

Here's a pic if you don't want to mess with the video. I think bluing it and then polishing most of it off looks better than a vinegar patina.

I won't use my BK9 for food, so I'm not worried about that.
