Strip Coating

Sorry if this has been asked but has anyone been able to strip the black coating from an Emerson? I've seen videos of people stripping ESEE blades and Becker and it seems pretty straight forward. Not sure if there is a big difference in coatings.

The Emerson coating is a lot easier to strip than the thick coatings found on esee or tops fixed blades.

I did it once. I had No chemical agents. I had 1000 grit wet/dry sand paper. The blade coating was already scratched up. I used water and the sand paper. Probably wasn’t the best method. The metal finish afterwards was dull and greyish.

So using a chemical agent should be easy then. I like the idea of a dull grey finish.

This is the knife. I also dyed the scales.
