Do the bushes on a Sebenza move against the handle slabs at all?

I ask as I stripped my small Sebenza down over the weekend and cleaned it all up and noticed quite a lot of metalic marking on the inside of the handles slab from one of the bushes.

When I lubed up and reassembled I put some grease between the bushes and handle slabs as well as the normal places.

My knife is now the smoothest it has ever been, much smoother than when it was brand new. This is about the 5th time it has been apart in about 6 months or so and now rivals an axis lock for smoothness.

Should I have been putting lube here before?

I have got a copy of the FAQ printed off and it site in the little zip lock bag along with the allen key for take downs and I cant remember seeing anything about lubing there?

Am I just being stupid? (polite answers only please)

Aaarrgh, I really need to find a technical english->dutch dictionary.

Are the bushes the same as the bronze washers?

Anyway, I put lube on anything that should or has a potential to move amongst another surface, and if that movement should be smooth.

So I lube on both sides of the bronze washers, on the outside of the pivot, on the inside of the hole in the blade, and on the blade where it touches the washers.
I don't put any lube on the stop pin, lockbar, tang etc.

Hope this helps...
Ted

If by bushes you mean the bushing at the pivot that the blade rides on I don't think that moves. I only lube the outside of the bushing where it slides against the inside of the hole of the blade.

The last time that I put lube around a bush. . .my wife. . .

Ooooppppppps. . .this isn't the Whine & Cheese Forum ! ;)

Actually. . .I put lube on both sides of the bushings. The action is sssssoooooooooo smooth afterwards ! :D

Sorry I was talking about the washers.
